
MIAMI -- Spring Training might be a few months away, but some of the Majors’ top superstars are readying their “A” swings for a good cause.
This year’s edition of the La Gente Del Barrio Home Run Derby & Celebrity Softball Game, which will take place on Dec. 6 at loanDepot park in Miami, will not be short on star power.
MVP Award candidates, All-Stars and Silver Sluggers represent the HR Derby’s 10 participants: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (Blue Jays), Junior Caminero (Rays), Fernando Tatis Jr. (Padres), Juan Soto (Mets), Oneil Cruz (Pirates), Noelvi Marte (Reds), José Ramírez (Guardians), Teoscar Hernández (Dodgers), Elly De La Cruz (Reds) and Ketel Marte (D-backs).
Additional big leaguers confirmed for the event include Anthony Santander (Blue Jays), Gleyber Torres (Tigers), Santiago Espinal (free agent), Julio Rodríguez (Mariners), Ezequiel Tovar (Rockies), Lourdes Gurriel Jr. (D-backs) and Miguel Rojas (Dodgers). Four-time World Series champion Jorge Posada and Laura Posada will also participate.
The entertainment lineup will feature Gente de Zona, Chef Yisus, Águeda López, Clarissa Molina, Adriana Cataño, Migbelis Castellanos, Tony Dandrades, Aly Sánchez, Jessica Rodríguez, Chef Adrianne, Carlos Adyan, Kodak Black and Roberto Hernandez. Additional personalities joining the festivities include Rashel Diaz, racing driver Maite Cáceres, Maity Interiano, La Gatita de El Zol, Paulina Sodi, Carolina Sarassa, Satcha Pretto, Daniella Urbay and Bonco Quinongo. Hosting duties will be carried out by Enrique Santos, Orlando León and Gloria Ordaz.
La Gente Del Barrio (“The People of the Neighborhood”) aims to blend baseball, music and Latin culture for a full day of entertainment that merges competition, community impact and cultural pride.
Proceeds from the Home Run Derby and Celebrity Softball Game will support the La Gente del Barrio Foundation, the VG 27 Foundation founded by Guerrero, and additional charitable partners dedicated to youth development and community initiatives across Latin America and the United States.
The Celebrity Softball Game is scheduled to take place at 1 p.m. ET, followed by the Home Run Derby at 4 p.m. Tickets are on sale here.
