LOS ANGELES -- Third baseman John Forsythe left in the sixth inning of the Dodgers' 9-1 loss to the D-backs on Saturday night and underwent an MRI of his right shoulder after the game. Results are expected on Sunday.
"He was in between innings and I was watching him throw, and there was discomfort and the shaking of the arm," said manager Dave Roberts. "There was fatigue there, and it didn't look right. I wanted to get pictures, and that's where we're at."
Forsythe, who made two long throws in the top of the fifth inning, was seen in the Dodgers' dugout rubbing his right shoulder between innings.
A second baseman for most of his career, Forsythe has been pressed into third-base duty because Justin Turner began the season on the disabled list with a fractured left wrist.
"Don't know if it's a DL situation, but to lose two third basemen, it's nice to know we have some guys with versatility," Roberts said. "We don't have that true third baseman. But we'll give [Enrique] Hernandez and James Farmer time over there and, if it's a DL situation, then call up an infielder."
Hernandez replaced Forsythe at third base with the D-backs holding a 7-1 lead.
