Yankees first baseman Luke Voit and Rockies outfielder David Dahl -- two players who are surging into the start of postseason play -- were honored Monday as the American League and National League Players of the Week presented by W.B. Mason.

Dahl, who has had to start from scratch several times already in his career due to injuries, took full advantage of his playing time down the stretch. The 24-year-old finished off a hot September by hitting .333/.375/1.000 and homering in six out of seven games (including a run of five straight) over the final week. Dahl joined teammate Nolan Arenado, Dante Bichette and Larry Walker as the only Rockies to go deep in five straight contests, and his hot hitting proved vital as Colorado raced the Dodgers to a season-end tie in the NL West.

Speaking of playing time, Voit figures to get plenty more of it should the Yankees advance past Wednesday's AL Wild Card Game against the A's. The midseason trade acquisition continued to surprise in pinstripes, hitting .458/.519/.958 with three homers, three doubles and eight RBIs over the final stretch. Voit finished with a sterling .333/.405/.689 slash line with 14 homers and 33 RBIs in just 39 games since arriving in the Bronx at the beginning of August.
