All 30 MLB clubs will continue the tradition of celebrating moms during Mother's Day games on Sunday, while also raising awareness in the ongoing fight against breast cancer.
To help commemorate the day, MLB has several in-game components planned as part of the MLB Together program.
In-stadium celebrations will include a special Mother's Day video that will be shared at every MLB game, while players will continue to honor moms with their in-game gear.
Specially designed pink socks will be available for players and other on-field personnel, along with wrist bands and batting gloves. All on-field personnel will also wear the special pink ribbon decal on their jerseys to signify breast cancer awareness. In addition, players may continue to use pink, customized or cause-inspired bats and other equipment from approved suppliers.
Commemorative base jewels and lineup cards featuring the Mother's Day/breast cancer awareness logo will also be used.
Nearly 43,000 people in the U.S. are expected to die from breast cancer in 2025, according to the American Cancer Society. Research shows that most women diagnosed do not have a family history of the disease, and the warning signs are not the same for all women. That makes annual testing critical in the effort to save lives.
