Manny Machado made the amazing look easy, once again.

The Padres' prize offseason acquisition made a diving stop on a Kevin Newman ground ball up the middle in the top of the third in Thursday night's 4-3 win over the Pirates, and then, with no time to get to his feet -- or even set his gaze on first baseman Eric Hosmer's mitt -- rolled over and made a strong throw to first base for the first out of the inning.

“You see all the highlights of Machado on ESPN, all the amazing plays he makes. There’s another one to add to his resume," Newman said. "Unfortunately, it was against me. But it was a great play. I came back, got a couple hits. Can’t complain.”
