Mariners announce Spring Training report dates

October 17th, 2019

SEATTLE -- The Mariners on Thursday announced that pitchers and catchers will report to Spring Training on Feb. 12 and will be followed by position players on Feb. 17.

Cactus League play will begin on Feb. 22 against the Padres, whom the club shares its facility with in Peoria, Ariz.

The Mariners' 2020 Spring Training figures to be one of much intrigue, particularly given that the club has indicated that many of its top prospects will get the chance to compete in big league camp. No. 1 prospect Jarred Kelenic almost certainly will be among that group after earning two promotions in '19 and finishing the season with Double-A Arkansas.

Outfielder Julio Rodriguez (No. 2) and right-hander Logan Gilbert (No. 3) could also see action, with Gilbert eyeing a legitimate chance to contribute Major League innings as early as the latter part of next season.

Seattle's report dates are almost the same as last year, with position players due one day later than in 2019.

The club also announced that all but four of its 16 home games in Peoria are slated for 1:10 p.m. PT start times, with contests against the Cubs, Brewers, Dodgers and Giants ticketed for 6:40 p.m. local time.

Fans can purchase travel packages to Spring Training at Mariners.com/Vacations, with a range of options including an escorted Senior Tour. Packages offer choice of accommodations, rental car, exclusive postgame events, game tickets, parking at the Peoria Sports Complex, and custom Mariners Spring Training merchandise.

The club will also once again put on its Fantasy Camp from Jan. 18-20, open to men and women over 30, that will feature a host of Mariners alumni teaching fundamentals and other aspects of the game.
