WASHINGTON -- Mariners manager Scott Servais was ejected in the top of the sixth inning of Thursday's 4-2 win over the Nationals.
The skipper was tossed by home-plate umpire Adam Hamari after arguing from the Seattle dugout about a called third strike on Guillermo Heredia.
"Oh, I knew I was the one [who was ejected]," Servais said. "I was yelling the loudest. It was a game [where] there some pitches -- I thought the borderline 50-50 pitches today -- he was very inconsistent on those. I thought there were was a few [pitches] earlier in the game that we barked about, and certainly thought I was barking the loudest, which I was."
The ejection marked the second of the season for Servais and came a day after he challenged his team to play with more urgency following five consecutive losses.
"Our guys joke about it, I think we're 2-0 when I get kicked out of games now, so they'd like to see it probably happen more," Servais said. "It's the intensity of the game."

The game's decisive blow came moments after Servais was sent to the clubhouse, as Nelson Cruz's three-run home run gave the Mariners a lead they wouldn't relinquish.
