SEATTLE -- Tyler O'Neill and Andrew Moore, two players who helped Double-A Jackson win the Southern League title this year, were named the Mariners' Minor League hitter and pitcher of the year on Friday.
O'Neill, a 21-year-old Canadian, was the recipient of the newly named Ken Griffey Jr. Minor League Hitter of the Year award after batting .293 with 24 home runs and 102 RBIs in 130 games in his first season in Double-A.
Moore, a 22-year-old right-hander out of Oregon State, earned the Jamie Moyer Pitcher of the Year honor after splitting his season between Class A Bakersfield and Jackson. He was a combined 12-4 with a 2.65 ERA in 163 innings over 28 starts.
O'Neill is the Mariners' No. 2 ranked prospect by MLBPipeline.com, while Moore is the team's No. 10 prospect.

The Mariners will hand out six Minor League awards prior to Saturday's game against the A's at Safeco Field and all were named after former Mariners standouts for the first time.
Infielder Dalton Kelly from Class A Clinton received the Edgar Martinez PTPA (productive team plate appearance) Award after posting a .384 on-base percentage in 130 games. Infielder Zach Shank, who split his year between Jackson and Triple-A Tacoma, earned the Alvin Davis "Mr. Mariner" Award.
Left-handed reliever David Rollins, who's currently with the Mariners after spending much of his season with Tacoma, earned the Dan Wilson Community Service Award. Clinton manager Mitch Canham received the Dave Henderson Minor League Staff Member of the Year Award after leading his team to the Midwest League championship series in his first season with the organization.

The Mariners sent Minor League infielder Tim Lopes to the Blue Jays on Friday as the player to be named in the Aug. 6 trade for switch-pitcher Pat Venditte. Lopes, 22, posted a .284/.358/.355 line with one home run, 49 RBIs and 26 stolen bases in 131 games for Double-A Jackson this past season.
