SEATTLE – Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Justin Hollander announced today the following roster moves:
- Leo Rivas, INF, recalled from Triple-A Tacoma.
- J.P. Crawford, INF, placed on 10-day Injured List (retroactive to July 30, left wrist inflammation).
Rivas, 28, has appeared in 38 games with the Mariners this season, batting .131 (13x99). He was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma on May 18. He has appeared in 13 games with Triple-A Tacoma this season, batting .186 (8x43) with 2 home runs and a .732 OPS. He was on the minor league 7-day Injured List from June 17-July 23, making 4 rehab appearances with the ACL Mariners during that time.
The switch-hitting infielder has appeared in parts of 3 Major League seasons with Seattle (2024-c), batting .198 (52x262) with 5 doubles, 2 triples, 2 home runs, 24 RBI and 11 stolen bases.
The Maracay, Venezuela native has appeared in parts of 10 minor league seasons in the Angels (2015-19), Reds (2021-22) and Mariners (2023-c) organizations.
Crawford, 31, was placed on the Injured List for the third time this season, after beginning the season on the 10-day Injured List (right shoulder inflammation) and on the 10-day Injured List from June 6-16 (right hand contusion).
Crawford has appeared in 87 games with the Mariners this season, batting .212 (65x307) with 38 runs, 11 doubles, 10 home runs, 30 RBI and 50 walks, getting on base at a .330 clip and slugging .345 with a .675 OPS.
J.P. is the longest-tenured active Mariners player and has appeared in 8 seasons (2019-c) with the team, batting .247 (862x3489) with 175 doubles, 11 triples, 74 home runs, 356 RBI, 33 stolen bases and 462 walks, getting on base at a .340 clip, slugging .367 with a .707 OPS. He’s appeared in more games than any other shortstop in franchise history and won the AL Gold Glove at the position in 2020.
