Mariners Recall INF Ryan Bliss from Triple-A Tacoma

BALTIMORE – Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Justin Hollander announced today the following roster moves:

  • Ryan Bliss, INF, recalled from Triple-A Tacoma.
  • J.P. Crawford, INF, placed on 10-day Injured List (right hand contusion, retroactive to June 6).

Bliss, 26, has appeared in 51 games with Triple-A Tacoma this season, batting .204 (43x211) with 13 runs, 11 doubles, 1 home run, 15 RBI and 9 stolen bases. The right-handed hitting infielder also appeared in a game with the Mariners earlier this season, and appeared in 11 games with Seattle in 2025.

Bliss has appeared in 45 Major League games, all with Seattle (2024-c), batting .210 (21x100) with 4 doubles, 1 triple, 3 homers, 12 RBI and 7 stolen bases with a .642 OPS and 86 OPS+. The LaGrange, Georgia native was originally selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2nd round of the 2021 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of Auburn University (AL) and was acquired by the Mariners, along with INF Josh Rojas, on July 31, 2023 in exchange for RHP Paul Sewald.

Crawford, 31, has appeared in 55 games with the Mariners this season, batting .228 (44x193) with 31 runs, 5 doubles, 10 home runs, 23 RBI and 34 walks, getting on base at a .356 clip, slugging .409 with a .766 OPS and 121 OPS+. The left-handed hitting shortstop was hit by a Framber Valdez-DET pitch in the top of the third inning on Friday, June 5 and left the game in the next inning.

J.P. is the longest-tenured active Mariners player and has appeared in 8 seasons (2019-c) with the team, batting .249 (841x3375) with 169 doubles, 11 triples, 74 home runs, 349 RBI, 33 stolen bases and 446 walks, getting on base at a .342 clip, slugging .372 with a .713 OPS. He’s appeared in more games than any other shortstop in franchise history and won the AL Gold Glove at the position in 2020.
