Mariners recall outfielder Stefen Romero from AAA Tacoma

Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced the following roster moves prior to tonight's game vs. the Minnesota Twins.

SEATTLE, Wash. -- Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced the following roster moves prior to tonight's game vs. the Minnesota Twins.
· Stefen Romero, OF, recalled from AAA Tacoma.
· Leonys Martin, OF, placed on 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 26.
Romero (#17) is in the starting lineup playing left field and batting 8th for tonight's game vs. the Twins.
Romero, 27, was batting .358 (53x148) with 30 runs, 7 doubles, 4 triples, 7 home runs and 34 RBI in 39 games with AAA Tacoma. He has appeared at right field (14 GS), first base (11 GS), DH (9 GS) and left field (7 G, 5 GS) this season with the Rainiers. Romero has hit safely in 31 of 39 games with the Rainiers, including 15 multi-hit games.
Romero appeared in the Majors with Seattle in both 2014 and 2015. In a combined 85 big league games, Romero has hit .192 (38x198) with 25 runs, 7 doubles, 2 triples, 4 home runs and 14 RBI.
Martin, 28, left Wednesday's game vs. Oakland in the bottom on the fourth inning after tweaking his left hamstring on a stolen base in the bottom of the third inning. In 44 games this season, Martin is batting .262 (38x145) with 22 runs, 5 doubles, 9 home runs and 20 RBI.
Martin has reached base safely in 19 of his last 20 games, including hitting safely in his last 9 consecutive games. Since May 3, Martin is batting .353 (24x68) with 14 runs, 1 double, 5 home runs, 10 RBI and 6 stolen bases in 20 games. Over his last 9 games, Martin is batting .500 (15x30) with 7 runs, 1 double, 4 home runs, 7 RBI and 1 stolen base.
