SEATTLE – Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Justin Hollander announced today the following roster moves:
- Nick Davila, RHP, recalled from Triple-A Tacoma.
- Cole Wilcox, RHP, placed on the 15-day Injured List (left oblique strain).
Davila (DAH-vee-LAH), 27, was optioned on July 26. Overall, this season he is 0-0 with a 3.57 ERA (9 ER, 22.2 IP) with 9 strikeouts and 1 save in 20 appearances for Seattle. Davila earned his first career save on June 9 at Baltimore.
Davila was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Detroit Tigers on July 7, 2020. He signed a minor league contract with the Mariners on March 27, 2023. He has appeared in 6 minor league seasons in the Tigers (2021-22) and Mariners (2023-c) organizations, going a combined 18-30 with a 4.94 ERA (155 ER, 358.2 IP), 107 walks and 345 strikeouts in 129 games (42 starts). Davila was invited to Major League Spring Training this year and appeared in 7 Cactus League games.
The 6-foot-3 right-hander is a Hialeah, Florida native. He played one season at the University of South Florida after transferring from Hillsborough Community College (Tampa, FL).
Wilcox, 27, has made 23 appearances out of the Seattle bullpen, holding a 4.00 ERA (12 ER, 27.0 IP) with 17 walks and 28 strikeouts.
The 6-foot-5, 232-pound righty was acquired by Seattle from Tampa Bay in exchange for cash considerations on November 5, 2025. He made his Major League debut with the Rays on Sept. 19, 2025 at Boston, tossing 1.0 inning of relief in his only career Major League appearance that season.
He was originally drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 3rd round of the 2020 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Georgia. He was traded by the Padres to the Rays on December 29, 2020 along with three other players in exchange for LHP Blake Snell.
