SEATTLE -- Outfielder John Andreoli, who spent much of last season with the Mariners, is back with Seattle after being reclaimed on waivers from the Orioles as the club made a flurry of roster moves on Wednesday.
Seattle also added first baseman Joey Curletta to its 40-man roster after his strong season for Double-A Arkansas, as he would have become a free agent as a six-year Minor League veteran. The 24-year-old was the Mariners' Minor League Hitter of the Year.
Relievers Juan Nicasio and Sam Tuivailala were also transferred back to the 40-man roster, as required, after finishing last season on the 60-day disabled list.

Two other right-handed relievers -- Ryan Cook and Justin Grimm -- were outrighted to Triple-A Tacoma after clearing waivers, which takes them off the 40-man roster while remaining in the organization.
The moves put Seattle's 40-man roster at 35 players after eight players became free agents earlier in the week.
Andreoli provides some outfield depth for the Mariners after Denard Span and Cameron Maybin became free agents, leaving only Ben Gamel, Mitch Haniger and Guillermo Heredia as full-time outfielders on the 40-man roster. Dee Gordon also played some outfield in 2018, though his future role remains uncertain after he played mostly second base and some shortstop following Robinson Cano's 80-game suspension.
Andreoli spent most of 2018 with Triple-A Tacoma, where he hit .287/.397/.401 with three home runs and 19 stolen bases in 89 games. The 28-year-old went 1-for-5 in three games with Seattle, then batted .232 (13-for-56) with two doubles and four RBIs in 23 games with the Orioles after being claimed on Aug. 18.
Baltimore placed Andreoli on outright waivers on Monday, opening the door for his return to Seattle.

Curletta was protected from being snatched up by another team by being promoted to the 40-man roster after batting .282/.383/.482 with 23 home runs and 94 RBIs in 129 games for Arkansas, where he was the Texas League Player of the Year.
The 6-foot-4, 245-pounder was acquired from the Phillies in a trade for switch-pitcher Pat Venditte in 2017.
Nicasio and Tuivailala are now taken off the 60-day disabled list for the offseason, though Tuivailala isn't expected back until midseason after undergoing surgery on his right Achilles tendon in August. The 26-year-old pitched in just five games for Seattle with a 1.69 ERA in 5 1/3 innings after being acquired from the Cardinals on July 27.
Nicasio, 32, figures to be ready for Spring Training as he's already begun throwing again following surgery to clean up some bone chips in his right knee in September. The veteran right-hander signed a two-year deal with Seattle as a free agent last December, then posted a 6.00 ERA with 53 strikeouts and five walks in 42 innings over 46 outings before being shut down.
