Trumbo HR wraps up career season

TORONTO -- Playing in his first postseason game, gave the Orioles a temporary lead with a two-run homer in his second at-bat, in the fourth inning of the American League Wild Card Game against the Blue Jays on Tuesday night. Although Baltimore went on to end its season with a 5-2, 11-inning loss, the long ball was a fitting way for Trumbo to end a career year.
"Hits were hard to come by today, speaking for the offense," said Trumbo, who led the Majors with 47 homers on the year. "We saw some very good pitching, and we weren't able to get any extended rallies, and that was tough."
Trumbo sent 's pitch into left field with an exit velocity of 101 mph and a launch angle of 25 degrees, according to Statcast™. The home run gave the Orioles a 2-1 lead.

It also traveled an estimated 354 feet. That's the shortest homer Trumbo has hit in the Statcast™ era, which dates back to last season.
