ARLINGTON -- Right-hander Yefry Ramirez had an abbreviated outing, but the Orioles' offense powered its way to a 9-6 win over the Rangers in the series finale on Sunday afternoon at Globe Life Park.
Baltimore launched four home runs, including a pair of two-run homers by Mark Trumbo, who recorded five RBIs. He gave the Orioles the lead for good with a two-run shot in the third inning and tacked on another in the seventh.
It was Trumbo's 14th career multi-homer game, and his first since July 1 against the Angels. Trumbo also hit an RBI single in the first inning. He is currently riding an eight-game hitting streak, and he has 15 home runs this season, which are tied with Trey Mancini for the team lead.
"Mark's not a guy that thumps his chest and says, 'Look at me,'" manager Buck Showalter said. "That's one of the reasons why we like him."
Austin Wynns and Jonathan Villar also went deep for the O's. Wynns hit a three-run home run in the second inning, and Villar, who finished a triple shy of the cycle, hit a solo shot in the fifth as part of a three-hit game.

"Today was a really good game for us, the bats especially -- like I said yesterday -- have been looking pretty good," Trumbo said. "It's going to be important for us moving forward. … Villar has really done a nice job, and then [Renato Nunez] as well. Both of those guys have kind of hit the ground running. That definitely helps, but everyone's contributing in some way and I think it's led to a more dynamic team."
The Orioles had to overcome a rough start from Ramirez, who gave up five runs in just 1 2/3 innings, his shortest start of the year. He gave up a two-run single to Robinson Chirinos in the first inning, faced eight batters in the second and walked a career-high five batters overall.
"Unfortunately, I wasn't able to command the strike zone today, and when you're unable to command the strike zone, bad things happen throughout the game," Ramirez said. "... I think days like today is when you learn the most, so I'm definitely going to take advantage of the bad game and make it an opportunity to try to work on things to move forward."

Baltimore's bullpen, however, was solid as Tanner Scott, Donnie Hart, Miguel Castro and Paul Fry combined for six scoreless innings, while Mychal Givens recorded his second save of the season.
Scott struck out four and ate up 2 1/3 innings for the Orioles, who received just 12 2/3 innings from their starters during the weekend series. Scott replaced Ramirez in the third.
"We were swinging the bats and scoring runs, and our bullpen did really well putting zeros up on the board," Scott said. "I think everyone threw really well, and that was big."
MOMENT THAT MATTERED
With two out in the second inning, Rangers first baseman Ronald Guzman came to the plate with the bases loaded, and Scott struck him out to end the inning and keep it to a one-run deficit for Baltimore.

"I knew it was two outs and I needed a ground ball, fly ball, strikeout -- one of them," Scott said. "Just don't leave a pitch over the middle that they can hit. That was my mindset, go out there and try to attack first pitch, and get out of it."

Trumbo has hit 22 career home runs against the Rangers, his most against any opponent. He also has 14 career homers at Globe Life Park, his third highest at any ballpark.

Villar's solo shot in the fifth was his first home run with the Orioles. The home run was Villar's first since June 11 against the Cubs, while his three-hit game was his sixth this season.
MITEL REPLAY OF THE DAY
With none out in the top of the third, Villar was initially called out while trying to steal second base. Showalter challenged and the call was overturned. Villar, who recorded his 15th stolen base of the season, scored on Trumbo's first two-run home run that gave the Orioles a 6-5 lead.

Right-hander Alex Cobb (3-14, 5.83 ERA) will start for the Orioles when they open a three-game series against the Rays at 7:10 p.m. ET on Tuesday at Tropicana Field. Cobb allowed just one run over six innings in Wednesday's win against the Yankees. Righty Tyler Glasnow (1-2, 4.27 ERA) will start for Tampa Bay.
