Marlins extend radio deal with iHeartMedia

January 23rd, 2017

MIAMI -- Marlins fans won't have to change the station when tuning into games on the radio.
The Marlins and iHeartMedia on Monday announced a multiyear extension, retaining the partnership they've shared since 2013 for all 162 regular-season games and 15 Spring Training games.
In South Florida, fans will continue to tune into games on radio on 940 WINZ-AM and WZTU-HD2. The broadcasts begin 30 minutes prior to the first pitch with "Marlins On Deck," and conclude with a 30-minute postgame show -- "10th Inning Show."
"This is an exciting time for the Marlins organization, and we felt it was important to continue to build on our partnership with iHeartMedia," said Marlins senior vice president of communications and broadcasting P.J. Loyello. "With this agreement, we are able to continue to provide our fans the ability to catch every game on their radio dial."
The broadcast voices also are staying the same, with Dave Van Horne and Glenn Geffner returning.
Van Horne, who was honored as the Hall of Fame's Ford C. Frick Award winner in 2011, will begin his 52nd year in professional baseball, and 49th at the Major League level. This will be his 17th season as the lead play-by-play voice of the Marlins.
Geffner, a Miami native, returns for his 10th season with the organization, and 21st season Major League season.
Also back is Kyle Sielaff for his fifth season as a member of the Marlins Radio Network. Sielaff hosts the Marlins pregame show "Marlins On Deck" throughout the regular season in addition to the Marlins Hot Stove Show on Mondays at 7 p.m. ET on 940 WINZ AM during the offseason.
Around the state of Florida, Marlins baseball can also be heard on 1230 WBZT West Palm Beach, 1600 WKWF Key West, 1450 WSTU Ft. Pierce, 1060 WIXC Titusville, 1240 WMMB Melbourne, 95.1 HD2 Melbourne, 1080 WHOOO Orlando, 770 WJBX North Ft. Myers and 99.3 FM Ft. Myers Beach.
