Kemp's spot-on throw nabs Blackmon at home

June 2nd, 2018

DENVER -- Matt Kemp continues to put to rest all the concern about his defense.
Kemp prevented a run in the first inning of Saturday's 12-4 Dodgers win over the Rockies at Coors Field. With one out and runners on the corners, lifted a towering fly to medium left field. Kemp camped under it to make the catch and came up firing with a rocket on the fly to catcher , who easily tagged out Charlie Blackmon trying to score from third base after tagging up.
It was the first outfield assist of the year for Kemp, a two-time National League Gold Glove winner in his first Dodgers stint, and the ninth for the Dodgers. Kemp, who is in a battle with the Reds' Scooter Gennett for the NL batting average lead, singled in his first at-bat and came in to score three batters later.
