Padres right-hander Matt Waldron completed three innings of one-run ball in his second rehab start for Triple-A El Paso on Friday night.
He has been on the IL since May 15 with a right brachialis muscle injury.
Waldron allowed three hits -- including a home run -- while walking one and striking out two. He threw 44 pitches (27 strikes).
Waldron tossed 2 1/3 scoreless innings on 27 pitches in his first rehab appearance on Sunday.
Waldron, 29, has pitched to an 8.49 ERA in six appearances (three starts) for the Padres this season.
When Waldron returns to the big league club, he could do so as a reliever. In his last appearance with the Padres, on May 14, he came out of the bullpen and fired two spotless innings with four strikeouts.
