Mets outfielder and top prospect Brandon Nimmo has a partially torn tendon in his left foot, the club announced on Friday.
Nimmo, picked by the Mets in the first round of the 2011 MLB Draft, received an injection and has been placed in a walking boot. The Mets said Nimmo will be evaluated again in 10 days.
Nimmo played 104 games in the Minors last season and batted .269/.362/.372 with five homers and 16 doubles. He was added to the Mets' 40-man roster in November.
