NEW YORK -- The Mets made a flurry of transactions prior to Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays, recalling two pitchers from the Minors to fortify their bullpen.
The Mets called up right-hander and lefty Buddy Baumann from Triple-A Las Vegas, placing on the paternity list and optioning to Las Vegas in corresponding moves. They also resinstated from the paternity list, optioning back to Triple-A.
Baumann was with the Mets from May 11-13, but did not appear in a game. Rhame posted a 7.36 ERA in four big league outings earlier this season, while Smith struck out in his lone plate appearance this weekend.

The Mets did not reveal how long they expect Blevins to be gone. Players can stay on the paternity list for one to three days; Bruce took the full three last weekend for the birth of his son, Maxwell, returning in time for Tuesday's game.
