Hot-hitting outfielder Michael Harris II exited Thursday’s 7-2 win over the Nationals at Nationals Park after the top of the seventh inning due to left quad tightness. The team stated that he was removed as a precaution.
Harris, who had three hits on the day, hit an RBI double in the top of the seventh, then advanced to third base on Dominic Smith's single one batter later. Stranded at third base to end the inning, Harris was then replaced in the lineup by Jorge Mateo to start the bottom of the frame.
Eli White shifted from left field to center for the bottom of the seventh, with Mateo playing shortstop and Mauricio Dubón sliding from short to left field.
Harris is batting .318 with a .921 OPS through 24 games this season. He and his wife celebrated the birth of their son earlier this month, and since returning from the paternity list on April 13, Harris is batting .441 (15-for-34) with four homers and a 1.339 OPS in 10 games.
