PHOENIX -- The Diamondbacks finished up their seven-game homestand with a 5-1 win over the Nationals on Sunday afternoon.
Michael Soroka set the tone for Arizona, allowing one run on three hits over seven innings.
The Diamondbacks’ offense, which had scored just two runs over the first two games of the series, broke out against Cade Cavalli, thanks in part to home runs by Corbin Carroll and Gabriel Moreno.
Carroll's first-inning homer gave the Diamondbacks the early lead, while Moreno's two-run shot gave Arizona a 4-1 edge in the fifth.
The Diamondbacks have Monday off before opening a three-game series against the Marlins in Miami.
