Trout homers to snap 0-for-21 skid

ANAHEIM -- snapped a career-worst 0-for-21 drought by launching a solo home run off in the eighth inning of the Angels' 8-3 loss to the Rays on Friday night at Angel Stadium.
Trout blasted a 1-2 slider from Roe over the left-field fence for his 13th home run of the season, which is tied for second-most in the Majors. The blast traveled an estimated 382 feet, according to Statcast™.
The 26-year-old center fielder entered Friday in an uncharacteristic slump, going 1-for-22 with eight walks over the Angels' first eight games of their homestand. Trout had blamed the funk on minor timing issues.
"I think he was pretty sure he was going to get another hit this year," manager Mike Scioscia deadpanned. "He's been working very hard this week, and I think obviously his timing looked a little better tonight. Good to see him get a hold of one."
Trout finished 1-for-3 with a walk on Friday and is now batting .291 with a 1.046 OPS in 45 games this season.
