Save the date. One of the can't-miss events of the 2026 Minor League Baseball season is set.
The St. Paul Saints and Iowa Cubs will meet in the MiLB at Field of Dreams Game on Aug. 11 in Dyersville, Iowa. The Triple-A affiliates of the Twins and Cubs are slated to set the stage for the MLB at Field of Dreams game between the Twins and the Phillies two days later.
The Saints and I-Cubs will bring Minor League Baseball back to the iconic diamond among the cornfields for the first time since the High-A Quad Cities River Bandits (KC) and Cedar Rapids Kernels (MIN) played in the first MiLB at Field of Dreams game on Aug. 9, 2022.
In that matchup, both Minor League clubs played in throwback alternate identities befitting the showcase event inspired by the 1989 "Field Of Dreams" film -- a cinematic love letter to baseball's timelessness and the way history stays alive through the game.
Quad Cities was victorious as the Davenport Blue Sox (representing a Minor League club that played during the 1913-1916, 1929-1933 and 1934-37 seasons), and the Kernels played as the Cedar Rapids Bunnies (a real franchise from 1904-32).
The ballpark for these events is adjacent to the field used in the making of the movie, purpose-constructed for the first MLB at Field of Dreams game between the Chicago White Sox and the New York Yankees in 2021.
The Cubs and Twins each finished the 2025 season with noteworthy prospects in the organization. Minnesota, which ranked No. 2 in MLB Pipeline's midseason farm system rankings, goes into the winter with four players among Pipeline's Top 100 Prospects, and Chicago has three players on the list.
