Best HS hitter in decades? Termarr talks

December 22nd, 2021

Georgia high school slugger Termarr Johnson is one of the best prep hitters to enter the MLB Draft in the last generation. No, really. One scout compared him to both Wade Boggs and Vladimir Guerrero, Sr. in his evaluation of the young middle infielder. The ceiling for Johnson is quite high, to say the least.

This week, he's got a new designation to add to his name: podcast guest.

Next year's No. 2 Draft prospect joined MLB Pipeline's Jonathan Mayo and Jason Ratliff to discuss getting set for the 2022 Draft process and upcoming final high school season. It wasn't just Termarr on the show, either. The young star's oldest brother, Tervont, also swung by for a surprise visit to talk about his younger brother, the game of baseball and growing up in the talented Johnson family.

In addition to their conversation with Johnson, Mayo and Ratliff dive in to the brand new Top 100 Draft prospects list which features prep position players in its top three slots followed by collegiate hitters in its next five. The pair also discusses some breakout top 2021 prospects to keep an eye on for next year, and as always, this week's show wraps up with a listener question from the Mailbag.

On the MLB Pipeline Podcast, Jim Callis and Jonathan Mayo are your tour guides through all the unfolding stories and breaking news of baseball's top prospects. Each week, you'll find out about the stars of tomorrow from the guys who know today.
