It was a show of support to send Rendon to the All-Star Game presented by Mastercard, as he appears on the Esurance MLB All-Star Game Final Vote ballot. The second ballot update was revealed Wednesday afternoon, and Rendon remained in third place, behind Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner and Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant.

Turner is pacing the field with 12.9 million votes. Voting ends at 4 p.m. ET today, and fans can show their support for Rendon by tweeting with #VoteRendon. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET today, any tweet that includes #VoteRendon will count toward his vote total.

Rendon did not play Tuesday, but his numbers this season speak for themselves. He entered Wednesday leading all NL third basemen in Wins Above Replacement according to Fangraphs, (3.4), weighted runs created plus (146) and OPS (.953). Rendon entered Wednesday with 16 homers and a .297/.398/.549 slash line.

No Nationals player has ever won the Final Vote, and Rendon came up short to Anthony Rizzo in 2014. The last 24 hours of balloting always hold some creative campaigning, and the team's Twitter account launched a campaign to "Vote 6 on the 6s" -- a nod to Rendon's jersey number and to get fans voting every hour.

Now in its 16th season, with more than 680 million votes cast, the Final Vote again will include social votes on the last day of balloting, as Twitter support for the 10 candidates over the final six hours of balloting will count toward their vote totals. From 10 a.m.-4 p.m. ET today, any tweet that includes a designated player hashtag will be tabulated as part of the official vote total used to determine the winners.
