Nats, Badenhop agree to Minor League deal

Right-hander will compete for job in Spring Training

The Nationals on Thursday came to terms on a Minor League contract with right-handed reliever Burke Badenhop, the club announced. The deal includes an invitation to Major League Spring Training, where Badenhop will compete for a role in the Nats' bullpen.
Badenhop went 2-4 with a 3.93 ERA in 68 appearances with the Reds last season. He struggled early in the season but finished strong, posting an ERA of 2.65 in the final three months.
The 33-year-old veteran has pitched in parts of eight seasons with the Marlins, Rays, Brewers, Red Sox and Reds. He has a career 3.74 ERA in 418 big league games.
