PHOENIX – The Diamondbacks jumped all over Giants starter Robbie Ray for four runs in the first inning, and they rolled to a 12-2 victory Monday night at Chase Field.
Everyone got into the act with each member of the starting lineup collecting at least one hit, as the Diamondbacks won for the fourth time in their last five games.
Nolan Arenado set the tone with a grand slam as the fourth batter in the first inning, and Gabriel Moreno added a two-run shot in the fifth.
The 12 runs scored matched a season-high for the Diamondbacks, and it was a night the Giants would just as soon forget as they committed three errors in a lackluster performance.
The offensive performance was more than enough for Zac Gallen, who allowed just a pair of runs on four hits over six innings.
