NEW YORK -- will return to the mound Thursday for his ninth start of the season against the Tigers, carrying a 1-2 record and a 2.78 ERA into that game at Citi Field. He’ll be looking for his first win since April 3. Here’s what else to know about his outing:

Last start: McLean gave the Mets his best performance in nearly a month last time out in Arizona, holding the Diamondbacks to one run over six innings. He struck out six and threw 100 pitches, making it his most efficient outing in weeks.

Stat to know: McLean has a career 1.71 ERA at Citi Field, compared to 3.13 on the road. He also has a 1.37 ERA in day games, compared to 2.82 at night.

What he said: “My job is to get as deep into the game as I can every time I go out, and I was disappointed in myself [my previous start] against the Angels. It was pretty important to me today.”

Next opponent: McLean made his fourth career start against the Tigers last September, holding them to two runs over six innings in his fourth consecutive win. The only hits he allowed in that game were singles to Dillon Dingler, Wenceel Pérez and Spencer Torkelson.
