Friday marked two significant dates in the 2026 Spring Training calendar: Photo Day and the final workout prior to the first Grapefruit League games on Saturday.
Media outlets gathered throughout CACTI Park of the Palm Beaches to take photos, videos and conduct interviews with players and coaches. Nationals fans will see these photos throughout the season and the content gathered by MLB Social, MLB Network and Nationals.TV – among others – will be accessible in no time. In fact, tune in to MLB Network Radio at 6:00 p.m. ET to hear interviews with Paul Toboni, Blake Butera, James Wood, CJ Abrams, Dylan Crews, Brady House, Daylen Lile and Miles Mikolas, among others.
On how the pitchers and hitters have looked throughout camp so far, Butera remarked, “There’s always some back and forth, so I'm excited to see us face someone in a different uniform tomorrow and going forward to where we can say like, ‘All right, all of our guys look good.’”
"I think just all these kids are great, great guys. Like, they're awesome. They want to work, they want to listen, they want to be led and they're excited to play,” said Butera.
While it was an important morning, the real work took place following Photo Day, with the final workout before Saturday’s split-squad action against the Houston Astros (home) and St. Louis Cardinals (road).
As a reminder, the 2026 Grapefruit League home opener against the Houston Astros on Saturday, Feb. 21, at 1:05 p.m., is available to watch FOR FREE on Nationals.TV with no credit card required. For more information, please visit HERE.
