The Oakland A's return home for a six-game, seven-day homestand against the Boston Red Sox and Miami Marlins beginning Thursday, May 18. In an on-going effort to enhance the fan experience at the Oakland Coliseum, starting Tuesday, May 23, the team will open gates one hour earlier for all remaining Tuesday home games this season. Ballpark gates will open at 4:30 p.m. to allow fans the opportunity to watch the A's take batting practice. Tuesdays also feature free parking at the ballpark as part of Chevy Free Parking Tuesday.
 
The homestand also features the first postgame fireworks show of the season and the Oakland A's Community Fund Golf Classic. The complete homestand schedule is below.

HENDRIKS PITCHING FOR STRIKING OUT POVERTY: This season, Liam Hendriks is pitching to raise money for Striking Out Poverty and Big League Impact to support their mission to save lives, restore dignity and instill hope in our local communities and around the globe. BAY AREA HIP HOP FIREWORKS: Following the game, the team will host Bay Area Hip Hop Fireworks, presented by Lagunitas. The fireworks will be set to music for Bay Area and local Oakland-based artists. Fans can enjoy the show from the outfield grass (space permitting).
 
MATHLETICS SCHOOL VISIT: The A's will celebrate the success of the Mathletics program at Lorenzo Manor Elementary School in Hayward at 10:50 a.m. Andrew Triggs will visit with students and discuss how math plays a part in baseball. Mathletics is presented by Ross Dress for Less.
 
YOUTH SPORTS NATION'S "PLAY BALL" TOUR SCHOOL VISIT: The A's will visit with students at Cleveland Elementary School in Oakland from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. as part of the Youth Sports Nation's "Play Ball" Tour. Members of the A's will be joined Terry T. Butler, aka Mr. Community, for a presentation that combines music, sports and community to celebrate the game of baseball. The program will also include Youth Sports Nation's three pledges: get my education, love my parents and respect my elders.
 
TABITHA SOREN BOOK SIGNING: In 2002, photojournalist Tabitha Soren started following the Oakland A's draft picks and has captured their incredible journeys ever since. Her new book, Fantasy Life, tells these stories through a richly textured series of photographs taken on the field and behind the scenes at games, along with commentaries by each of the players and memorabilia from their lives. Soren will host a book signing before the game from 5 - 6:30 p.m. in the Shibe Park Tavern.

DOOLITTLE FUNDRAISER FOR MICHAEL'S WAY: Sean Doolittle is a proud supporter of Michael's Way, a nonprofit that helps the families of children with cancer to cope with the extraordinary expenses that come about as a direct result of their child's illness. To help raise money for the cause, Doolittle designed a T-shirt that will be sold during the game behind section 121. Doolittle will visit the table at 11:30 a.m. to sign autographs for the first 50 fans who purchase the shirt.

OAKLAND A'S COMMUNITY FUND GOLF CLASSIC: The Oakland A's Community Fund will host the 35th annual Golf Classic, presented by Chevron and Kelly-Moore Paints, at Blackhawk Country Club in Danville. A's players, front office staff, corporate partners and fans will participate in the event, which benefits the Oakland A's charitable arm.

CHEVY FREE PARKING TUESDAY: To continually provide value to A's fans, Free Parking Tuesdays is back for most Tuesday home games during the 2017 season. All fans park for free on these days.
 
GREEN STAMPEDE HOMEWORK CLUB: On select games throughout the season, elementary school students will visit the Coliseum to receive help with their homework from tutors and aides. An A's player will visit and sign autographs for the students as a way to congratulate them for their hard work. After the students have finished their homework, they are able to sit in the stands and watch the game.

HOME RUN READERS: More than 8,000 students from local schools will receive tickets to the game as a reward for achieving their reading goals set by their teachers. The tickets are courtesy of the Oakland A's Community Fund.
 
FOOD BANK WEDNESDAYS: On select Wednesdays throughout the season, volunteers will be on-site to help collect cans of food and monetary donations before the game to benefit the Alameda County Food Bank. With every five cans donated or $20 contribution, fans will receive two vouchers that are redeemable for a Plaza Level ticket at 50% off for a 2017 A's game. Food Bank Wednesdays is presented by Lagunitas.
