The Orioles return on Friday, May 19, for a six-game homestand featuring a three-game, weekend series against the Toronto Blue Jays and a three-game series against the Minnesota Twins. During the homestand, the Orioles will host a sold-out Celebrate Maryland Day complete with a unique Maryland Flag Script Replica Jersey giveaway presented by Morgan State University for all fans. As always, students can enjoy a special discount on Friday nights, and children ages 4-14 can participate in the post-game Kids Run the Bases presented by Weis Markets following Sunday games throughout the year. The upcoming week at the ballpark will be full of youth events including Boy Scout Night on Friday, the season's second Youth Baseball Day presented by Ripken Baseball on Sunday, and Field Trip Day presented by MASN and WJZ-TV on Wednesday. HONORARY BAT GIRL CONTEST WINNER AMBER SHAW TO BE RECOGNIZED ON MAY 19
The winner of the 2017 Honorary Bat Girl Contest for the Orioles, AMBER SHAW, will be recognized in a pregame ceremony and throw out the ceremonial first pitch at Oriole Park on Friday, May 19, prior to the 7:05 p.m. game against the Blue Jays. Shaw, a breast cancer fighter from Hanover, Pa., was months away from getting married when she was diagnosed with breast cancer in March of 2014 at the age of 28. She started an aggressive treatment regimen and endured a double mastectomy, multiple rounds of intense chemotherapy, and a blood transfusion. Shaw refused to let her treatments derail her wedding plans and married her husband, DUSTIN, in October of that same year. Two years later, Shaw was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. She underwent two more surgeries, multiple rounds of chemotherapy, and oral chemotherapy. Through everything, she maintained a positive outlook and ultimately pursued a new career in mammography to help other breast cancer patients. The Honorary Bat Girl winners were selected by fan votes along with feedback from a guest judging panel that featured several MLB players personally committed to the fight against breast cancer, including Orioles pitcher KEVIN GAUSMAN. Gausman's maternal grandmother passed away after a brave battle with breast cancer. The Honorary Bat Girl program was introduced in 2009 to raise additional awareness and support for the annual "Going to Bat Against Breast Cancer" initiative celebrated on Mother's Day. In nine years, thousands of unique testimonials have been submitted and millions of fan votes have been cast. Going to Bat Against Breast Cancer is a Major League Baseball initiative supported by MLB charitable partners, Stand Up To Cancer and Susan G. Komen. This initiative raises awareness about the breast cancer cause, while also raising funds to support breast cancer research.

MAY 19 - DR. KALA VISVANATHAN; for her dedication to preventing both breast cancer and ovarian cancer. Dr. Visvanathan is a cancer epidemiologist and a practicing medical oncologist at Johns Hopkins Medicine. Visvanathan serves as a mentor and advisor to the next generation of cancer researchers and clinicians and is one of the researchers working with the John Fetting Fund for Breast Cancer Prevention, the recipients of the proceeds of this year's Mother's Day Jersey Auction.
MAY 20 - KIM COBLE; for 25 years of service and leadership with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF). Coble is CBF's Vice President of Environmental Protection and Restoration, where she directs all policy, advocacy, and restoration efforts through the Chesapeake Bay watershed. In addition, she serves on the boards of Agro-Ecology, Maryland Leadership Workshops, and Restore America's Estuaries.
MAY 21 - JAMES BARNES; for his passion for helping the poor and homeless get back on their feet. In addition to working at Oriole Park, Barnes is a volunteer and leader for Health Care for the Homeless, participating in a committee that guides the agency on how it can better serve the community. Once lacking a job and a home himself, he shares his story with diverse audiences through the local Speakers' Bureau to raise awareness about homelessness.
Through the Orioles' Great Americana Music Weekends, the club will also continue the tradition of celebrating American principles and ideals with live performances of classic, American songs during the seventh-inning stretch featuring "This Land Is Your Land" on Fridays, "America, The Beautiful" on Saturdays, and "God Bless America" on Sundays.

On Friday, May 19, the Orioles will showcase their first Friday Fireworks Night presented by Kaiser Permanente. Fireworks will be set off approximately 10 minutes following the conclusion of the game. ORIOLES TO HOST 'CELEBRATE MARYLAND DAY' ON SATURDAY
During Saturday's game against the Blue Jays, which is now sold out, all Orioles players, coaches, and uniformed personnel will wear special Orioles Maryland flag script jerseys and Maryland flag themed caps, which will be autographed, authenticated, and auctioned online at www.orioles.com/auctions to benefit the Orioles Charitable Foundation. Additionally, the official bases used during the game will feature Maryland flag jewels on the sides. The bases will also be authenticated and auctioned online. Over 1,300 Baltimore Area Boy Scouts and their families will be in attendance for Saturday's game against the Blue Jays for Boy Scout Night at Oriole Park. Thousands of children who participate in the Junior Orioles Dugout Club will be in attendance on Saturday to root for the Orioles. The game will be the second of the season for Ace Plan members. On Sunday, May 21, the Orioles will host this season's second Youth Baseball Day presented by Ripken Baseball, when more than 10,000 pre-registered youth baseball and softball players will participate in a pre-game parade around the warning track and be greeted by Orioles players as they walk by the dugout. Teams, dressed in their uniforms, will carry banners and wave to their family members as they round the field.

The Orioles will again feature the Steal Second Base contest during every Sunday home game this season. Presented by ESSKAY, the Steal Second Base contest challenges a young fan to race from the grounds crew area in center field to retrieve second base and back. Every Monday and Thursday home game, former Orioles players will sign autographs on Eutaw Street as part of the Orioles Alumni Autograph Series. On May 22, former Orioles JACKIE BRANDT, LARRY SHEETS, AND FRED VALENTINE will sign autographs from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. In the event of inclement weather, the autograph location will take place on the Lower Level Concourse near the Fan Assistance Center behind home plate.

FIELD TRIP DAY PRESENTED BY MASN & WJZ-TV
On Wednesday, May 24, over 10,000 students from local schools will attend the 12:35 p.m. game against the Twins, for the 10th annual Field Trip Day presented by MASN and WJZ-TV. The students will have an opportunity to learn about weather from WJZ-TV's MARTY BASS, JESSICA KARTALIJA, BOB TURK, and TIM WILLIAMS and Orioles Head Groundskeeper NICOLE McFADYEN and National Weather Service Meteorologist CHRIS STRONG. WJZ's MARCUS WASHINGTON will also sing the national anthem.
