Astros to Host Boston Red Sox for Homestand Finale

The first-place Houston Astros are hosting the AL East-contending Boston Red Sox (June 16-18) for a three-game set to wrap up the current nine-game homestand. Despite going 2-4 in the previous two series, the Astros still have the best record (45-22) and winning percentage (.672) in MLB. The Astros are off to their best 67-game start in franchise history, a full 4.0 games better than their previous best record of 41-26, achieved most recently in 1999. They currently hold an 11.0 game lead in the AL West Division, the largest division lead in MLB, and have led by as many as 14.0 this season.

Friday, June 16 vs. Boston Red Sox - 7:10 p.m.
The Astros Foundation and ROOT Sports will be hosting the second-annual Astros Foundation Charity Game and live broadcast at Minute Maid Park on Friday, June 16 as the Astros face off against the Boston Red Sox. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston and USO Houston. During the June 16 game against the Red Sox, fans can show their support by purchasing a VIP, MVP or Cooperstown Charity Bag that include tickets to a 2017 game, autographed merchandise and more. Friday the 16th kicks off the Astros Father's Day Weekend celebration, presented by Houston Methodist.
Prior to Friday's game, Astros pitchers Chris Devenski, Francis Martes and Joe Musgrove will visit with the summer camp participants at the Astros MLB Youth Academy from 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Big and Bright Friday Nights begin with a special pregame Budweiser Happy Hour at the Budweiser Brew House, where fans can enjoy $6, 16oz Budweiser Signature Draft beer and food specials, a live DJ, corn hole, jenga, a new Budweiser Virtual Reality zone and more from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. before every Friday night home game.

This Friday's musical theme is Guys Night in honor of Father's Day. Saturday, June 17 vs. Boston Red Sox - 7:15 p.m.
Father's Day Weekend, presented by Houston Methodist, continues on Saturday. Prior to the evening matchup, 10,000 fans will receive an Astros Gym Bag presented by Houston Methodist.
Prior to Saturday's game, the Astros will honor the 25 recipients of the Minute Maid Grand Slam for Youth Baseball Scholarships during an on-field pregame ceremony. The Minute Maid Grand Slam For Youth Baseball (MMGSFYB) Scholarship program is in its 13th year in 2017, with this marking the first year MMGSFYB is awarding $5,000 scholarships. Since 2005, MMGSFYB has awarded 291 scholarships and grants totaling more than $800,000. Annually, hundreds of applications are received and reviewed from all over Texas. The 2017 recipients are represented by 13 boys and 12 girls, and of the 25, 14 are first-generation college students.
The Houston Astros are hosting families from the Sunshine Kids for their first meet and greet of the season with Astros players and coaches. The meet and greet will be held in the press conference room following Astros batting practice.
Saturday's 7:15 p.m. game vs. the Boston Red Sox will air exclusively on TV on FOX. Fans can also catch the game on the radio on the Astros flagship radio station KMBE 790 AM or in Spanish on La Nueva 94.1 FM. Saturday's game will also broadcast nationally on ESPN radio.
Sunday, June 18 vs. Boston Red Sox - 7:05 p.m.
Sunday's matchup between the Astros and Red Sox on Father's Day, June 18, will broadcast exclusively on ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball beginning at 7:05 p.m. CT. Gates at Minute Maid Park will open at the special time of 5:00 p.m. Sunday evening in light of the new game time.
Fans are invited to the Astros Pregame Party prior to Sunday's matchup from 5:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. at the Budweiser Brew House, which will replace Sunday's previously-scheduled After Party. Fans can enjoy live music, trivia, food and beverage specials, games and visits from the Astros Coca-Cola Shooting Stars. Additionally, Kids Run the Bases will not take place following Sunday's game, and has been rescheduled to Thursday, June 29 after the 1:10 p.m. contest.
