Mets slugger Pete Alonso could let his powerful bat do the talking for him, but fortunately for baseball fans, he isn’t shy about expressing himself. The first baseman’s colorful personality will be on full display this season in a first-of-its-kind MLB Originals video series: On First with Pete Alonso, presented by Gatorade.
The 25-year-old will be mic’d up for five episodes during the 2020 season, giving fans a chance to experience the game from the perspective of last year's National League Rookie of the Year Award winner.
Episode 1, which launched Wednesday, follows Alonso during the Mets’ Opening Series against the Braves.
In it, fans can listen to Alonso banter with opposing baserunners like fellow All-Star first baseman Freddie Freeman, cheer on his teammates from the dugout, react to plays in real time and more.
