The junior has 97 strikeouts through 74 1/3 innings this season and has fanned double-digit batters in five of his 11 starts, one shy of Oregon's single-season record.
Peterson relies on a fastball-slider combination with his fastball sitting in the 89-94 mph range. He has also improved his changeup under first-year pitching coach Jason Dietrich.
Peterson recorded at least one strikeout in all nine innings and struck out the side three times, finishing the game having allowing just four hits and a walk, improving to 9-2 with a 1.94 ERA.
A 28th-round pick (Red Sox) out of high school, Peterson has long been on scouts' radars. With a 6-foot-6, 240-pound frame, Peterson is becoming the complete pitcher scouts envisioned three years ago and has seen his stock rise as the Draft approaches.
