NEW YORK – CC Sabathia will enter Yankee Stadium’s Monument Park one day earlier than originally scheduled, with the Orioles and Yankees having postponed Saturday’s contest due to a forecasted nor’easter.
The clubs are now scheduled to play a single-admission doubleheader on Friday, with first pitch set for 4:05 p.m. ET.
Sabathia’s No. 52 will be retired, along with the unveiling of his Monument Park plaque, prior to Game 1. Only tickets dated Friday, Sept. 25, will be valid for the doubleheader.
The second game will start no earlier than 7:05 p.m. ET. If the first game ends later than 6:35 p.m. ET, Game 2 would start approximately 30 minutes after the end of Game 1.
Tickets for Saturday’s game (Saturday, Sept. 26) will not be valid for the single-admission doubleheader.
Friday also marks a coveted promotional item, a Yankees bobblehead depicting Josh Hart of the NBA champion Knicks. All Yankee Stadium gates will open to fans with valid tickets at 2:30 p.m. ET. The bobbleheads are being distributed to the first 18,000 guests in attendance.
The Yankees are encouraging fans to arrive by 3 p.m. ET for the Sabathia ceremonies.
Fans with paid tickets for Saturday’s game (Saturday, Sept. 26) may exchange them for tickets to a similar regular-season game at Yankee Stadium (subject to availability) as described in the Yankees’ rain check policy, which may be found at www.yankees.com/raincheck.
Tickets can be exchanged online only and cannot be exchanged in person at the Yankee Stadium Ticket Office.
Sunday’s 3:20 p.m. ET game between the Orioles and Yankees currently remains on as scheduled.
