BALTIMORE -- Manny Machado has had a hit in all 13 of the Orioles' games this season, and the red-hot third baseman -- who went 2-for-3 with a pair of walks on Wednesday -- is picking up right where he left off in a career 2015 season.
Machado, now batting .407, played a big part in the O's latest win, a 4-3 walk-off win against the Blue Jays in 10 innings. The All-Star got Baltimore on the board with a first-inning RBI double off R.A. Dickey and scored on Chris Davis' single. Machado, who continues to play Gold Glove defense on a nightly basis, also singled in the sixth and was intentionally walked prior to a big free pass in the 10th.
"It's really a big sample if you think about last year, too," Orioles manager Buck Showalter said of the run Machado has been on. "Manny's gotten better, and what I've liked is he's stayed within himself for the most part and has let the game come to him instead of pushing it, because as your reputation gets more, they're going to see how many times they can get you out of the strike zone." 
Machado's final walk loaded the bases, and the O's won on a passed ball with the next batter, Adam Jones, at the plate. It's that kind of balanced approach that has been impressive for Baltimore's bats early.
"Look at that [10th] inning right there. You have a two-out double, and then Joey [Rickard] makes contact against a really tough pitcher and speed and gets out there and beats out that throw. Then you've got Manny, who's being super selective and patient, and even Jonesy. Most guys maybe swing at that pitch, because it looks like a fastball coming in. He takes it, and sure enough, we get a clank there," catcher Caleb Joseph said.
"This team has been doing that for a good portion of four weeks now. We believe it. We can still hit home runs. We like the attitude this team is taking. It's a very unselfish team. I don't think people now feel like they have to do it all."
