Padres being careful with Ross' rehab

June 1st, 2016

SEATTLE -- The Padres are hopeful that Opening Day starter Tyson Ross, on the disabled list since early April with shoulder inflammation, can start throwing soon.
"We've kind of taken off the timetable element of it," manager Andy Green said. "He's progressing now with all his stabilization exercises and strengthening exercises, and hopefully in the next number of days, he starts throwing.
"That will all dictate how quickly he moves. But since we've taken such a long-term approach with him, I don't expect to try to get him back to games too quickly. I expect to progress him slowly, make sure he takes every step along the way well. And then when he's ready, we'll start getting him into games."
