Padres promote Erik Greupner to chief operating officer

The San Diego Padres today announced Erik Greupner has been promoted to chief operating officer. Executive Chairman Ron Fowler made the announcement.

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Padres today announced Erik Greupner has been promoted to chief operating officer. Executive Chairman Ron Fowler made the announcement.
"Erik has made significant contributions to the Padres over the last six years," said Fowler. "The organization has benefitted from his intelligence and sound judgement, and we are pleased to announce his well-deserved promotion."
Greupner most recently held the post of executive vice president, business administration & general counsel. He previously held the role of senior vice president, business administration & general counsel from October 2011 - November 2014, and originally joined the Padres in December 2010 as senior vice president, general counsel. 
Prior to joining the Padres, Greupner worked as a corporate and transactional attorney with the international law firm Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP. He earned his Juris Doctor degree magna cum laude from the University of San Diego School of Law. Prior to attending law school, Greupner held sales management roles with Goldman Sachs & Company and Scudder Weisel Capital, LLC.
Greupner currently serves as the vice chairman of the advisory board of trustees of Rady Children's Hospital Foundation and on the board of directors of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce.
