Padres to Host Diamondbacks and Rockies to Close out Final Homestand of 2017

The Padres return home from their 12th road trip of the season, a 10-day eight game trip, for their 12th and final homestand of the 2017 season, featuring games against the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies. Action begins tonight, with a 7:10 p.m. start against the Diamondbacks.

The Padres return home from their 12th road trip of the season, a 10-day eight game trip, for their 12th and final homestand of the 2017 season, featuring games against the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies. Action begins tonight, with a 7:10 p.m. start against the Diamondbacks.
 
The Padres Estrellas program presented by Arco continues its partnership with local school districts and non-profits to support the effort to reduce high school dropout rates and improve health and fitness behaviors within the Hispanic youth population. Prior to Monday's game, students from Big Brothers Big Sisters will be treated to tickets to the game and have the opportunity to watch batting practice from the field before taking a tour of the Jerry Coleman Broadcast Center.
 
Fan Rewards Month presented by Donovan's Steak and Chop House continues on Monday, featuring a variety of activities throughout the month to thank Padres fans for their support. Fans attending games in September are encouraged to download the MLB.com Ballpark app and enable check-in offers for the chance to receive a special Fan Rewards Month scratcher card with a prize on each card. The ninth and final College Night of 2017 will take place Thursday, featuring a special Greek Night theme to recognize local fraternities and sororities in San Diego. Elements include:
-A DJ spinning at the Budweiser Patio in Right Field from 6:00 p.m. to the conclusion of the game.
-College students will receive a special ticket discount with a valid student ID (advance price of $10 in a Right Field Upper Reserved College Night section; prices increase day-of-game).
 
The sixth Friar Family Day at Petco Park takes place Thursday, with elements including:
-A special ticket package with $15 tickets for kids (14 and younger) and $20 for adults. A hot dog and soda is included with each ticket.
-Access to inflatables and face painters at Park at the Park prior to Thursday's game. The inflatables will close at dusk.
-Following Thursday's game, kids 14 and under with the Friar Family Day ticket are invited to run the bases on the field. Kids and their families can begin lining up following the conclusion of the Park Blvd Gate Plaza.

Hispanic Heritage Weekend begins Friday with Fiesta in the Park presented by Verizon. Elements include:
-Food and drink specials and live entertainment including Flamenco Dancers and Spanish music at Park at the Park.
-The fiesta begins at 4:30 p.m. with $5 drink specials.

The Mayor of Tijuana, Juan Manuel Gastélum, will throw out the Ceremonial First Pitch prior to Friday's game.
 
Friday will also serve as a Fire-Rescue Department Salute, with elements including:
-Padres players and coaches will wear Fire Department baseball caps during batting practice.
-Over 100 local firefighters, lifeguards and their families will line the baselines during the pregame ceremony.
-Captain Margo Johnson, who will be retiring this month after 31 years of service, will ring the Ceremonial Mission Bell.
-The San Diego Fire Rescue 2017 Firefighter and Lifeguard of the Year will throw the Honorary First Pitches.
-Firefighters and lifeguards will take the field to greet Padres starters at each position.
-A flyover will be conducted by the San Diego Fire-Rescue.
 
The fourth and final Hedges Saxy Section of 2017 will take place on Friday, a special section where fans can cheer on Padres catcher Austin Hedges from his home-run-landing area in left field. Fans who purchase the Hedges Saxy Section tickets will receive an inflatable saxophone and themed sunglasses. Due to player scheduling, there is a chance Austin Hedges does not play on this day. As part of Baseball Night in San Diego, all fans in attendance on Saturday will receive a 2017 Team Photo and 2018 Padres Schedule presented by Padres Radio Network.
 
Saturday will feature the Celebrate San Diego Tailgate presented by Budweiser with live entertainment, football games, food trucks, San Diego sports legends and Padres Baseball. Elements include:
-The tailgate party begins at 2:00 p.m. in the Tailgate Lot, with the lot opening at 12:00 p.m.
-Appearances from San Diego sports legends, including: Trevor Hoffman, Randy Jones, Bill Walton, Marshall Faulk, Charlie Joiner, and Steve Fisher.
-A variety of ticket packages that include tickets to the game, beer vouchers, a doublewide tailgate space, limited edition koozies and a Padres tailgate flag. A portion of each ticket package will be donated to the William J. Oakes Branch of the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Diego benefiting after school activities with an emphasis on baseball and softball programs. Hispanic Heritage Weekend continues on Saturday with Hispanic Heritage Night. Recipients of the Comunidad Award will be recognized during the pregame ceremony, along with Latino dance performances. The Comunidad Award Celebration will honor community leaders and organizations that have made significant contributions to the local Hispanic community. Fans are encouraged to stick around after Saturday's game for a special Postgame Fireworks Show presented by T-Mobile set to the music of popular Spanish musical artists.

Sunday will serve as a Military Appreciation Day presented by Hewlett Packard. Elements of the day include:
-The MCRD All-Star and Padres Alumni softball teams will be recognized during the homeplate ceremony.
-A military representative will sing God Bless America during the 7th inning break.
-Nine representatives from the MCRD All-Star softball team will take the field to greet Padres starters at each position as part of "Military Take the Field."
 
Hispanic Heritage Weekend wraps up on Sunday with the final Domingos Padres presented by T-Mobile of the season. Representatives from various Latin American countries celebrating their independence this month will be recognized during the pregame ceremonies. There will also be $5 pregame food and drink specials available.
 
KidsFest, Compadres Kids Sunday Signings and Kids Run the Bases activities include:
-KidsFest features bounce houses and other inflatables, games, face painters, balloon artists and more kid-friendly activities at Park at the Park beginning at 11:00 a.m.
-From 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m., two Padres players will sign autographs at the Park at the Park for Compadres Kids Sunday Signings. A Compadres Kids membership is required to participate. Membership is free, and kids can sign up online or in-person on the day of the event.
-Following Sunday's game, kids 14 and under are invited to run the bases on the field. Kids and their families can begin lining up following the conclusion of the eighth inning at the top of the ramp leading to the Sun Diego Beach on K Street. Compadres Kids members will receive front-of-the-line privileges by lining up at the Park Blvd Gate Plaza.
 
The seventh Friar Family Day at Petco Park takes place Sunday, with elements including:
-A special ticket package with $15 tickets for kids (14 and younger) and $20 for adults. A hot dog and soda is included with each ticket.

Immediately following Sunday's game, approximately 44 fans who purchased a winning scratcher ticket for the Shirts Off Their Backs presented by Sycuan Golf Resort fundraiser will receive a game-worn Marine camouflage jersey off the back of a Padres player or coach. Scratchers will be sold throughout the homestand leading up to Sunday with all proceeds from the scratcher ticket sales benefiting the Padres Foundation.
