The El Paso Chihuahuas have won five in a row, scored 47 runs in the process and are cruising along as a trio of the Padres' top prospects continue to terrorize opposing pitching staffs.
Manuel Margot, Hunter Renfroe and Alex Dickerson have all contributed to El Paso's winning streak and each member of the trio came up big Tuesday night.
Margot, the No. 41 prospect in baseball, set the tone with a 3-for-4 day, his second three-hit game of the season. The Padres' top prospect also drove in a run and scored three times.
Once Margot found his way on base, Dickerson found a way to drive him in. Dickerson, San Diego's No. 23 prospect, went 3-for-4 with three RBIs. Margot and Renfroe may be bigger names, but Dickerson has been the hottest hitter of late. The outfielder extended his hitting streak to 16 games Tuesday and has eight hits in his last nine at-bats.
Dickerson may be on a tear right now, but he's not the only one. Renfroe, baseball's No. 88 overall prospect, has homered in three straight games and went 3-for-5 with a homer and three RBIs on Tuesday.
Renfroe, the Padres' No. 3 prospect, has a six-game hitting streak and has strung together five consecutive multi-hit efforts.
"Renfroe is heating up." Chihuahuas manager Rod Barajas told the El Paso Times. "We go up, swing the bats well, put ourselves in position and we've been getting good production from the middle of the lineup."
The rest of the best performances from top prospects Tuesday:
• Fightin Phils' shortstop J.P Crawford tied his season-high in hits and set a new season-high in RBIs with his 3-for-6 performance Tuesday. The No. 3 prospect in baseball also scored a run and has four hits in nine at-bats over his last two games. In addition, the Phillies' top prospect knocked in three runs.
• Everything appears to be back to normal for Tyler Glasnow as the No. 8 prospect in baseball turned in another noteworthy performance Tuesday. After walking five and giving up three runs in five innings last time out, Glasnow rebounded with six innings of one-run ball for Triple-A Indianapolis. The Pirates' top prospect walked two, but did throw 54 out of 81 pitches for strikes.
• After back-to-back scoreless starts, Twins' No. 3 prospect Tyler Jay finally gave up a run Tuesday. However, the No. 56 overall prospect limited the damage to just one run over six strong innings. Pitching for Class A Advanced Fort Myers, Jay has a 2.79 ERA this season and has been charged with just one earned run over his last 19 1/3 innings.
• Dillon Overton, the Athletics' No. 10 prospect, tied his season high with eight strikeouts for Triple-A Nashville. The left-hander gave up one run on five hits and a walk in 6 2/3 innings.
• Adam Plutko extended his scoreless streak to 15 innings, with seven scoreless frames for the Akron RubberDucks on Tuesday. The Indians' No. 15 prospect gave up five hits and struck out seven during the performance, which lowered his ERA to 2.35 through eight starts this season.
• Josh Naylor, the Marlins' No. 2 prospect, set a career-high with five RBIs in Class A Greensboro's 10-3 win over Kannapolis. Naylor hit a three-run homer, his fourth of the season, and drove in two more with a double. He finished 2-for-5.
"One of my biggest issues when I slump is that I pull off the baseball sometimes," Naylor told MiLB.com. "I get a little too big and so I get in the cage and work on going up the middle as much as possible. I've been seeing the ball much better lately and again, I've been working on stuff in the cage before games. I'm just trying to have fun out there and help the team win."
• On April 23, Cody Poteet set season highs in innings and strikeouts when he struck out eight over five scoreless frames. On Tuesday night, the Marlins' No. 19 prospect did it again. Pitching for Class A Greensboro, Poteet struck out eight and put up five consecutive zeros in the team's 10-3 win.
• Nick Pivetta continues to see his ERA dwindle as the Phillies' No. 19 prospect has lowered his ERA in three consecutive starts. After throwing seven scoreless innings for Double-A Reading, Pivetta's ERA sits at 3.27. Pivetta has struck out 13 and given up just one run over his last two starts.
"Everything was working for me tonight," Pivetta told MiLB.com. "I was throwing strikes, except for the one walk, which was entirely my fault. I was getting ahead with the fastball like I have been for much of the year and working in the strike zone, getting guys to make weak contact."
• Nick Travieso turned in his best start of the season for the Pensacola Blue Wahoos. The Reds' No. 9 prospect held the Mississippi Braves scoreless over a season-high seven innings. The 22-year old right-hander struck out six and gave up just one hit.
• Hunter Dozier didn't get off to the best start once he was promoted to Triple-A Omaha. The Royals' No. 15 prospect registered just one hit in his first 11 at-bats, but that skid seems like a thing of the past. Dozier extended his hitting streak to seven games on Tuesday as he homered for the second time in the last three games and went 2-for-4 with three RBIs.

• Tigers No. 20 prospect Sandy Baez turned in his best start of the season for the West Michigan Whitecaps. The 22-year old right-hander twirled seven scoreless innings, struck out five and gave up just two hits. While Baez was keeping opponents off the bases, Tigers No. 18 prospect Jose Azocar spent his entire evening on the base paths -- going 4-for-4 in the team's 6-0 win.
