The Tigers made some of their final roster moves on Tuesday, optioning infielder Jace Jung and outfielders Trei Cruz and Wenceel Pérez to Triple-A Toledo. The club also assigned infielders Max Anderson and John Peck, catcher Tomas Nido, left-handed pitcher Sean Guenther, and right-handed pitchers Burch Smith and RHP Ricky Vanasco to Minor League camp.
After being the bearer of bad news to a handful of roster hopefuls, Hinch also informed outfielder Parker Meadows that he had made the team. Meadows has played 177 Major League games and played in 18 of Detroit's Spring Training games this year. Last season, he slashed .215/.291/.330.
Pérez will open the season in Triple-A. The 26-year-old had a rough spring, collecting just six hits in 38 Cactus League at-bats, for a .158 batting average.
