2-time Gold Glover Bailey traded to Guardians; Draft pick, LHP prospect to Giants

The Guardians have acquired catcher from the Giants in a trade for the 29th overall pick in the 2026 Draft and left-handed pitching prospect .

Cleveland optioned backstop Bo Naylor to Triple-A Columbus to make room for Bailey on the 26-man roster.

Bailey, 26, has hit .146 with one homer and five RBIs this season, but the two-time Gold Glover has maintained his elite skills behind the plate, ranking in the 99th percentile in Fielding Run Value. He's a career .224 hitter with 22 homers and a .611 OPS over three-plus big league seasons.

Wilkinson, 23, was taken by Cleveland in the 10th Round of the 2023 Draft. He is 13-17 with a 2.82 ERA in three Minor League seasons and has gone 1-2 with a 1.59 ERA over six appearances -- all starts -- at Double-A Akron this year, posting 0.918 WHIP while striking out 36 over 28 1/3 innings.
