With help from Major League Baseball and its players, the Taylor Hooton Foundation is widely recognized as the leader in the advocacy against the use of performance-enhancing substances.
The foundation has an advisory board that has at least one representative from all 30 teams. For example, right-hander Paul Skenes and Brandon Lowe represent the Pirates. In fact, Skenes is part of the new public service ad with a new theme, I AM ENOUGH. It replaces the original ‘ALL ME’ theme. The campaign will debut with the Skenes’ PSA in the upcoming May-June 2026 issue of Baseball Digest.
“I would not put my name on the ‘I AM ENOUGH’ message if it did not sum up what I believe leads to success: Hard work, discipline and belief in myself,” Skenes said. “There’s no place for performance-enhancing drugs.”
The foundation was created more than 20 years ago by Taylor Hooton’s family after he took his own life after using anabolic steroids in 2003. Hooton was only 17 years old. His family is making sure that people don’t forget what happened. Donald Hooton Jr., Taylor’s older brother, is pleased to have Skenes for a good cause.
“We [were] just thrilled when we found out [Skenes] was voluntarily stepping forward and staying with us on this message,” Hooton said. “He is one of those players who is super popular in the game. Young people look up to him. He is recognizable. He is a phenomenal person. To have a name like that with our new message, 'I AM ENOUGH,' having someone like that where we can put his PSA out, we are encouraging young people and letting them know they are enough just the way they are. Words cannot express how excited we are.”
As members of the “Advisory Board” -- formed in 2014 and fully endorsed by Major League Baseball -- the players are participating in the THF’s new 2026 public-service campaign, "I AM ENOUGH." For the campaign, a print PSA featuring each of the Foundation’s “MLB Advisory Board” members has been launched -- with images provided by THF national partner, Getty Images -- and will be made available to each player’s respective team for its program/magazine and other team platforms for the '26 season. In addition, "I AM ENOUGH"-themed print PSAs will appear in Major League Baseball’s All-Star Game, League Championship Series and World Series programs.
