CHICAGO -- made history Monday night. And just when it seemed like it would come in a losing effort, the Cubs found a way to ensure his efforts came in a victory.

Crow-Armstrong completed the 13th cycle in franchise history and drove in two of Chicago’s first three runs. But after Rockies prospect Cole Carrigg clubbed a go-ahead, three-run homer in the eighth, Chicago strung together a ninth-inning rally. Rockies reliever Juan Mejia loaded the bases by putting the Cubs’ first three hitters on in the bottom of the frame. Pedro Ramírez followed by singling home the tying run, and Matt Shaw then drew a bases-loaded walk to seal Chicago’s 5-4 win.

Crow-Armstrong wasted no time getting his historic night started, launching a Statcast-projected 434-foot leadoff homer to right field at 106 mph off the bat. He added a triple in the third inning, a double in the fifth and completed the cycle with a leadoff single in the seventh, becoming the first Cub to hit for the cycle since Carson Kelly accomplished the feat on March 31, 2025.

Crow-Armstrong's cycle came in just four at-bats, and he nearly carried Chicago to victory by himself. After Carrigg's go-ahead three-run homer in the eighth inning, Crow-Armstrong answered with a sacrifice fly later in the frame to trim the deficit back to one before the Cubs' ninth-inning heroics.
