All-star teachers are about to get a big thank you from the Phillies and their fans.
Starting today, fans are encouraged to nominate a deserving educator who has made a positive impact in the classroom or community. From the nominations, 10 teachers will be selected as a Phillies All-Star Teacher and they will have the distinct honor of being recognized on-field during Teacher Appreciation Night powered by Constellation on Friday, May 6, at Citizens Bank Park. The special event takes place before that night’s game against the New York Mets.
“Teachers are continually stepping up to the plate to make a difference in their students’ lives,” said Phillies Director of Community Initiatives Mary Ann Moyer. “With the help of our fans, we are excited to honor some of these amazing educators who have gone above and beyond in the classroom, as we fittingly recognize them as the all-stars they truly are.”
To nominate a past or present teacher for this honor, fans are required to submit a brief essay of no more than 500 words telling the Phillies about their favorite All-Star Teacher and why he/she should be selected for this opportunity. All essays must be submitted by 4:59 p.m. on Friday, March 18, at Phillies.com/community.For questions, please email community@phillies.com.
