When it comes to the most games played in Phillies history, it is no surprise that the franchise’s best player sits on top of the list.
Mike Schmidt, a second-round draft selection in 1971, played in 2,404 games over 18 seasons. Every single one was in a Phillies uniform, another record he owns. And, he’s played more games in Philadelphia baseball history as Jimmy Dykes holds the A’s record as a player, 1,702 games over 15 years.
Two members of the 2008 World Champions are second to Schmidt. Jimmy Rollins, the franchise’s all-time hits leader and also a second-round pick (1996), is second in total games. Ryan Howard, second to Schmidt in Phillies home runs, is also second in playing all his games in a Phillies uniform, 13 seasons.
As a player (1970-81), coach (1988-96), manager (2001-04) and coach (2014-17), Larry Bowa has worn a Phillies uniform longer than anyone in the team’s history.
