CLEARWATER, Fla. -- Bob Seger's "Night Moves" and other music served as the Phillies' soundtrack to Monday's workout at Carpenter Complex.
It's baseball -- why not?
"This is the most fun time of the year," Phillies manager Pete Mackanin said. "I want everybody happy. It keeps it lively."

Mackanin said he grew up a Beatles fan and remembered country singer Charley Pride being his first concert. But he also added that he likes contemporary artists Charlie Puth, Sam Smith and Meghan Trainor.
"I do," said Mackanin, reacting to a few chuckles. "What's so funny about that? You don't like them? They're good singers. I like good singers."
Eflin feeling good again
Phillies right-hander Zach Eflin had a bullpen session Monday after missing Thursday's because of swelling in his right knee. Eflin had surgeries to repair the patellar tendons in both knees last year.
"It exceeded expectations," Eflin said. "It felt great. I could use my lower half. No complaints."
Tuesday, they golf
The Phillies will have a shorter workout Tuesday as the team plays its annual golf tournament.
Mackanin said he got to pick his entire team before everybody else for the scramble event "because I'm the manager. It's a benevolent dictatorship." He chose Phillies baseball communications coordinator Chris Ware with his first pick. Bench coach Larry Bowa, hitting coach Matt Stairs, bullpen coach John McLaren and clubhouse attendant Sean Bowers are also on Mackanin's squad.
"If Larry is not hitting the ball after seven or eight holes, he'll quit, which will give somebody else on our team another shot," Mackanin joked.
