Players of the Week
Player - OF Mickey Moniak, Clearwater… Moniak, 20, posted a .333/.455/.611 slash line, going 6-for-18 with two doubles, one home run, two RBI and four walks in five games. He has hit safely in eight consecutive games and 15 of his last 16 contests (since July 6). Additionally, he has collected nine extra-base hits and owns a .798 OPS in 20 games this month. The California native was selected by the Phillies in the first round (No. 1 overall) in the June 2016 draft.
Pitcher - RHP Adonis Medina, Clearwater… The 21-year-old matched his career high by striking out 12 batters over 7.0 scoreless innings on July 21 vs Florida. He allowed just two hits and zero walks in his second double-digit strikeout performance of the season. Medina was also named Florida State League Pitcher of the Week. The Dominican Republic native has recorded 42 strikeouts over his last five starts (25.2 IP) since June 19. He was signed by the Phillies as an amateur free agent on May 29, 2014.
Lehigh Valley IronPigs - International League North Division… 60-39, 1st place… The IronPigs won both of their series, taking two of three at Columbus and three of four at Toledo. Their two losses were one-run games.
Top hitting performers - 1B Joey Meneses batted .423 (11-26) with two doubles, two home runs, six RBI, six runs scored, five walks and a 1.247 OPS over seven contests. He currently owns a 14-game hitting streak during which he has batted .389 (21-54) since July 4. The right-handed hitter enters play today leading the International League in home runs (17) and total bases (181) this season… SS posted a .500/.593/.636 slash line, going 11-for-22 with a double, triple, three RBI, six runs scored and five walks in six games. He is riding a 12-game hitting streak (.396, 19-48) since July 6…  INF Zach Green went 7-for-20 (.350) with a double, home run and three RBI in five games.
Top pitching performers - LHP Cole Irvin went 1-0 with a 0.82 ERA (1 ER, 11.0 IP) and 11 strikeouts in two starts, yielding just six total hits… LHP scattered four hits over 6.0 scoreless innings in his only start. He has posted a 0.57 ERA (1 ER, 15.2 IP) in three starts with the IronPigs… RHP tossed a quality start, surrendering two runs over 7.0 innings with eight strikeouts… LHP Tyler Gilbert posted three scoreless relief appearances (4.1 IP), while recording five strikeouts.
Reading Fightin Phils - Eastern League Eastern Division… 47-53, 5th place… Reading went 3-4 last week, including wins in each of its final two games against Altoona to split a four-game set. Offensively, the Fightins are the only team with more than 100 home runs (107) in the Eastern League this season.
Top hitting performers - C Deivi Grullon batted .357 (5-14) with one double, two home runs, three RBI, three runs scored and a 1.328 OPS in five games… OF Cornelius Randolph went 7-for-22 (.318) with two doubles, one home run, four RBI, six runs scored and four walks over seven games… OF Adam Haseley posted a .519 on-base percentage, collecting five hits - including a double and home run - four RBI and five walks in seven contests. He has reached base safely in all 11 of his starts with Reading, producing an overall slash line of .389/.542/.694 at the double-A level.
Top pitching performers - RHP Tyler Viza surrendered one run over 5.0 innings, while striking out five batters in his lone start… RHP Edgar Garcia made three scoreless relief appearances (2.2 IP) with four strikeouts and no walks.
Clearwater Threshers - Florida State League North Division… 18-12, 2nd place, 50-48 overall… The Threshers swept Daytona in a three-game series to begin their week, outscoring them, 16-5. Clearwater also won its other series, taking two of three from Florida.

Top pitching performers - RHP Adonis Medina, the Phillies Minor League Pitcher of the Week, tied his career high with 12 strikeouts over 7.0 scoreless innings on July 21 vs Florida. It was his second double-digit strikeout performance this season… RHP Alejandro Requena earned a win in his only start after recording eight strikeouts over 6.0 innings, while allowing just one run… RHP Mauricio Llovera made one start in which he allowed one run, no walks and struck out five batters in 6.0 innings.
Lakewood BlueClaws - South Atlantic League Northern Division… 19-11, 1st place, 60-39 overall… The BlueClaws won four of their seven games, including their league-leading 20th shutout of the season in game 2 of a doubleheader at Hagerstown on July 22.
Top hitting performers - OF Jhailyn Ortiz collected three doubles, one home run, four RBI and three walks, while batting .304 (7-23) with a .973 OPS in seven games… 2B Daniel Brito went 8-for-20 (.400) with three doubles, three RBI, three runs scored and stole three bases over five games… OF Simon Muzziotti had three doubles, three stolen bases and hit .318 (7-22) in six contests.
Top pitching performers - LHP David Parkinson tossed his first professional shutout (and complete game) in game 2 of a doubleheader on July 22 at Hagerstown. He allowed four hits, no walks and recorded seven strikeouts in 7.0 innings… RHP Spencer Howard allowed one unearned run over 6.0 innings and struck out eight batters in his lone start… RHP Julian Garcia yielded just one hit, zero walks and had six strikeouts over 4.0 scoreless innings in his only start.
Williamsport Crosscutters - New York-Penn League Pinckney Division… 13-22, 6th place… The Crosscutters went 2-5, earning their third shutout victory of the season in game 2 of a doubleheader vs West Virginia on July 22.
Top hitting performers - 1B Madison Stokes collected three multi-hit games and batted .400 (10-25) with three doubles, four RBI, five runs scored, four walks and a 1.003 OPS over seven contests… C Rafael Marchan went 8-for-22 (.364) in six games… OF Danny Mayer hit .364 (4-11) with two doubles.
Top pitching performers - RHP James McArthur made two starts in which he scattered five hits over a combined 8.0 scoreless innings with 11 strikeouts… LHP Keylan Killgore fanned six batters over 2.2 hitless innings of relief, spanning two relief outings. He also converted his only save opportunity.
Gulf Coast League Phillies East - Gulf Coast League Northeast Division… 16-12, 1st place.
Top hitting performers - C Juan Aparicio batted .467 (7-15) with two doubles, one home run and two RBI… OF James Smith doubled, homered, drove in four runs and hit .300 (6-20)… 3B Jake Holmes went 8-for-24 (.333) and collected a double with six RBI.
Top pitching performers - RHP Dominic Pipkin allowed just one run over two starts (8.0 IP). He struck out six batters and walked none… RHP Jonas De La Cruz earned a win after pitching 5.0 scoreless innings with five strikeouts and zero walks in his only start.
Gulf Coast League Phillies West - Gulf Coast League Northwest Division… 14-12, 2nd place.
Top hitting performers - C Logan O'Hoppe went 3-for-4 (.750) in two games. He has posted a .525/.556/.725 slash line with five extra-base hits and eight RBI in his first 14 professional games… SS tripled, walked and drove in a run, while batting .625 (5-8)… C Abrahan Gutierrez went 5-for-13 (.385) with a double and one RBI.
Top pitching performers - RHP Ben Brown surrendered just one earned run over 5.0 innings with five strikeouts in his lone start… LHP Ethan Evanko struck out three batters over 2.0 hitless innings of relief.
