Phillies Minor League review for May 7-13

Players of the Week
Player -- 1B/OF Austin Listi, Clearwater … Listi, 24, went 9-for-22 (.409) with three doubles, four RBI, four walks and a 1.064 OPS in six games. He has reached base safely in 17 consecutive games (since 4/25), posting a .403 batting average and .486 on-base percentage in that span. Listi was selected by the Phillies in the 17th round of the June 2017 draft.
Co-Pitcher -- LHP Cole Irvin, Lehigh Valley … The 24-year-old allowed one run on seven hits over his two starts (14.0 IP). He walked three and struck out 13, earning a win in both outings. For his efforts last week, the California-native was also named International League Pitcher of the Week. Irvin was selected by the Phillies in the fifth round of the June 2016 draft.
Co-Pitcher -- LHP Bailey Falter, Clearwater … Falter, 21, notched a career-high 11 strikeouts over 6.2 innings in his lone start of the week on May 12 vs Daytona. He surrendered one unearned run on two hits and walked none. He was also named Florida State League Pitcher of the Week. Falter was selected by the Phillies in the fifth round of the June 2015 draft.
Lehigh Valley IronPigs -- International League North Division … 20-14, 1st place … The IronPigs are riding a season-high, six-game winning streak, which began on May 7. They swept Pawtucket and Buffalo. Three of their six victories last week were shutouts, including consecutive ones against Buffalo on May 11-12. Additionally, Lehigh Valley leads the International League with six shutouts this season.
Top hitting performers -- C Nick Rickles went 5-for-7 (.714) with two home runs and a walk in two games. He had a multi-homer game on May 9 vs Pawtucket … OF batted .286 (4-14) with one double, one home run, five RBI and a .905 OPS over four games.
Top pitching performers -- Irvin, the International League Pitcher of the Week and Phillies Minor League Co-Pitcher of the Week, went 2-0 with a 0.64 ERA (1 ER, 14.0 IP) and 13 strikeouts in two starts. He allowed just three walks and seven hits last week. He has logged 7.0 innings in each of his last three starts … RHP surrendered just one hit over 7.0 scoreless innings, while registering six strikeouts in his lone start. With that outing, he extended his scoreless streak to 19.1 innings (since 4/21) and owns the lowest ERA (0.84) in the International League … LHP Brandon Leibrandt earned a win in his only start after not allowing a run over 5.0 innings. He has yet to surrender a run in 23.0 innings (8 games/3 starts) this season … LHP Austin Davis struck out four over 1.2-hitless innings of relief.
Reading Fightin Phils -- Eastern League Eastern Division … 13-20, 5th place … Reading went 2-4 last week, including a shutout victory at Trenton on May 8. The Fightins lost three of their four games by two runs or fewer.
Top hitting performers -- INF Zach Green batted .333 (6-18) with two doubles, two home runs, six RBI, four runs scored and a team-best 1.206 OPS over five games … C Deivi Grullon went 7-for-19 (.368), homered and drove in five runs. He slugged a grand slam on May 11 vs Altoona … 3B Damek Tomscha hit .389 (7-18) with one walk, one RBI and two runs scored in five games. He collected a season-high four hits on May 7 at Trenton.
Top pitching performers -- LHP JoJo Romero notched a quality start in his lone outing, allowing three runs with seven strikeouts over 6.0 innings … RHP Edgar Garcia converted two saves in as many chances and yielded one hit with five strikeouts across 2.0 scoreless innings. As of games through May 14, he has posted a 0.44 ERA (1 ER, 20.2 IP) with a 0.87 WHIP in 13 relief appearances in 2018 … LHP Tyler Gilbert allowed just one hitter to reach base (walk) of the 11 batters he faced over 3.1-hitless innings of relief (2 games).
Clearwater Threshers -- Florida State League North Division … 15-21, 5th place … After dropping a three-game set to Lakeland, Clearwater took two of three from Daytona, winning the final two games of the series by a combined score of 14-3.
Top hitting performers -- Listi, the Phillies Minor League Player of the Week, batted .409 (9-22) with three doubles, four RBI, four walks and two runs scored, raising his season average to .379. Listi leads the league in doubles (11) and is second in average and on-base percentage (.450) … SS Arquimedes Gamboa also went 9-for-22 (.409) with two doubles, one RBI, two walks, and four runs scored. He recorded three multi-hit games … OF Jose Pujols collected a season-high four hits on May 11, batting .389 (7-18) with a double and three RBI for the week.
Top pitching performers -- Falter allowed one unearned run over 6.2 innings on May 12, striking out a career-high 11 batters and lowering his season ERA to 1.83. He was named Florida State League Pitcher of the Week and Phillies Minor League Co-Pitcher of the Week … RHP Connor Seabold allowed two runs on just three hits in a season-high 7.0 innings of work, walking none and striking out nine … RHP Sixto Sanchez surrendered one unearned run in 6.2 innings during his start on May 11. He walked one and struck out seven to earn a win … RHP Adonis Medina yielded only one run and four hits over 7.0 innings in his lone start of the week.
Lakewood BlueClaws -- South Atlantic League Northern Division … 20-17, 4th place … The BlueClaws went 4-1 last week, winning each of their first four games and holding opponents to just two total runs in those four games (two shutouts). Their six shutout wins are the most in the South Atlantic League in 2018.
Top hitting performers -- INF Dalton Guthrie recorded two multi-hit games, batting .333 (6-18) with a double and RBI … 1B Quincy Nieporte batted .278 (5-18) with a double, two home runs, two RBI and a walk.
Top pitching performers -- LHP Damon Jones did not allow a run in 6.0 innings, allowing just one hit while striking out nine batters … RHP Ramon Rosso threw 6.0 shutout innings on May 7, allowing two hits while striking out nine batters. His season ERA of 0.93 ranks seventh among all qualifying minor league pitchers … RHP Spencer Howard tossed his second scoreless outing of the season, surrendering three hits and a walk while striking out seven in 6.0 innings on May 10. He has five walks to 39 strikeouts this season … LHP Will Stewart improved to 4-0 after holding Charleston scoreless over 8.0 innings in his only start of the week … LHP Kyle Dohy tossed 4.0 scoreless innings over three relief appearances, striking out six batters while converting his only save opportunity. He has multiple strikeouts in 12 of 14 appearances this season.
